is early childhood education, early childhood support.
If we can get there, if we can provide that support for the growth and development of our children at that early age, then we can solve a lot of these issues.
And so we work to direct our support, our resources to that end.
by providing grants, opportunities to groups, programs that are working in the community to deal with that issue in particular.
Not ignoring the other issues, but making sure that we're focused on getting to the root of the problem and providing and figuring out solutions to that problem.
I would urge us all to think about it in that way.
Identifying the root of the issue that we need to confront and providing resources, support to those solutions, I think is an opportunity for us to get to the solution that we're looking for.
I want to say one thing that I'm very proud to be part of health care.
I think that how we, health care, has responded to this pandemic has been extraordinary.
And I'm very proud of the commitment all of our caregivers, all of our hospitals have shown in our response.
There are incredible learnings that we have seen from a technology standpoint, how to utilize technology.
I'll tell you that we always thought that telemedicine was the future.
And when we presented to our different groups and our plans for the year, we'd say, well, gosh, we'll make sure that we improve our telemedicine.
And we were so proud prior to the pandemic that we were seeing about 200 to 300 patients per week via telemedicine.
And then we had to go from that to 2,000 a day.
And we did it, as it turns out, in about a week.
And that let us know that it's not the future, it's the present.
And so moving forward, we can't lose that.
because we've provided an incredible access, incredible opportunity to reach out and touch more families, more patients that need our help.
And how we do that moving forward, I think is vitally important.
