They can get into all sorts of trouble, very expensive.
You could end up with a seizure, you could end up with a dead dog.
If it's a dog in particular, you're highly likely to get mammary cancer later on with that dog if you don't de-sex her if she's a female and other testicular issues if it's a boy.
And with girls in particular, if you don't de-sex them as they come into heat and what have you, they can actually get an infected uterus and that's life-threatening as well.
That's called a pyometra.
Animals on heat also...
You know, they behave in different ways.
The dogs are really messy.
And they also go off looking for, you know, the girls will be messy, but the boys will go off and look for females who are on heat.
And then they get hit by cars and, you know, all those sorts of things.
Lots of reasons to get them de-sexed.
So get the basics right.
Get them de-sexed.
Get them vaccinated.
And you must get them microchipped because their microchip is...
firstly it's it's requirement by the law but it's a ticket home so it's a tiny little um radio frequency identification device that goes in under their skin it's often done at desexing it but it can be done while they're awake it's not a big deal then if they do get lost the the vet or the shelter can scan them number pops up it's got your details in it they just give you a call and say come on down um so it really is their ticket home it's linked to their council registration too
It's really hard on the animals, especially if you don't know what you're doing.
And, you know, there are issues for those animals to, you know, remain entire.
Even for animals like this, some really quirky things, not rabbits so much, but ferrets.
