And she appears very rarely, but the ways that she appears are really profound.
And you get kind of a sense of what her role was on the journey.
She's described as often like picking service berries.
One of the things that she knew, even if she didn't know the specific path, is she knew the land.
She knew what food was available in the land and she helped to provide food for the expedition.
There's this one incident that the journals describe where she's in a canoe with Charbonneau and the canoe gets blown over and the canoe capsizes and Charbonneau freezes.
He is panicking, but she gets into the water and she saves some really expensive scientific equipment where her husband was just a flailing, panicking mess.
And so it's clear it's clear from these little notes that.
She was respected in many ways and also sidelined in many ways.
