So it means, for example, I'm not a theoretical physicist, which is a very common misconception.

I'm not a straight theorist.

You know, I'm not any kind of theorist.

And so a lot of people, when they hear the word physicist or scientist, but more so the word physicist, they think of somebody who who only thinks ideas.

But that's a separate class or subfield of physics that's equally valuable.

But that's not what I do.

An experimental physicist is someone who builds things.

So this is not a perfect analogy.
