Since we're ending, I think George is exactly right to point out that the Odyssey doesn't end.
I mean, it comes to an end with the forgetting we mentioned, but built into the text is the prophecy Odysseus has already had that he's going to still keep traveling.
He's going to go further and do more.
And that also is a kind of resistance to endings that's quite nice and quite suits the way we like to read texts, right?
The kind of dot, dot, dot at the end.
So we know that the Odyssey is ending, but we also know there are more stories to come, even if we don't get to hear them.
