So I finally said, I guess I got to write it.

I call it like my diehard moment.
The terrorists in the building, and you're the only one there who can fight them.

So I finally reluctantly wrote a book because it's a lot of work.
It took me a long time to go through all those studies.
And publishers don't typically do that.
With those prospective pre-trauma studies, that's the hard evidence.
It just does not show that brain centers shrink or activity changes.
That's the main thing.
But I think it's also just a lot of common sense of knowing people clinically and how things work that most of the problems we deal with in psychiatry have a genetic basis to them.
People are vulnerable or resilient.
And it just, I mean, the idea that they had preexisting vulnerables, we call that the diathesis stress theory, that they had a diathesis theory.
profile of some sort before they ever had trauma.
And that's just what makes sense for most things in life.
People are born vulnerable for some reason, unfortunately.
And you see that clinically.
Not really, not to the level of certainty that they're talking about.
