Defense attorneys try to use that as a defense sometimes.
Schools use this concept of restorative justice, where they think if somebody acts up in a school, we're not going to punish them.
We're not going to kick them out.
We're going to have a restorative justice meeting and talk to this person and help them work through their feelings and apologize and things.
That is harmful things there, too.
It's harmful because it doesn't work.
It doesn't help rehabilitate anybody.
People don't commit crimes because they had childhood trauma.
They commit crimes because they lack empathy or they have problems with aggression and violence.
And you can talk to them all you want and give them therapy, but it's not going to change them from having those experiences.
