There doesn't have to be just one uh point of entry for for this new way of life.

Um but I think in the early days, if you have a a new group of farmers arriving in a place

It will take time to establish their farms.

And yet they still have to support themselves whilst they're doing that.

So a certain element of the older way of life of hunting, gathering and fishing, that also um persists.

And right here on this peninsula is ideal for that because to this day

People fish, they gather shellfish.

Um and we have evidence of that.

So we have found midden material, so the refuse material um related to foodstuff.

And that midden material is largely made up of shellfish.

So the fish has been eaten obviously and the shells have been discarded and we have found them here, right inside our actual tombs.

particularly the portal tomb.

There seems to have been a a layer of this midden material released to the sea largely.

Um the positive.

perhaps been used to feel or mark the final use of the actual monument.

So we have that link.

I suppose in the ar archaeological evidence here.

between the two ways of life.

you know, using the natural landscape and then altering the natural landscape um and then moving on and and developing from there.

Well I suppose that that that's the magic of it really, is that we don't know exactly what we're going going to find.
