HRT in perimenopause, starting in perimenopause or early menopause actually decreases your risk of heart problems.

HRT started 10 years or more after menopause, that heart protection goes away.
Yes.
So that's where we get into this 10 year thing.
And so there might be a neutral or increased risk of heart cardiovascular things with HRT started later.
that doesn't mean you can't do it.
Things have to be weighed with risk and benefit.
That's what we do in medicine.
