I'm talking when you're getting into like two, three, even a 24-hour fast seems doable.
Yes.
Who should not be fasting?
Yeah, I would imagine that would be terrible.
Who would ever do a fast when they're pregnant?
You're like feeding two people.
So people who have thyroid issues, obviously pregnant people or people who are nursing, people who have eating disorders.
To me, there's a few different myths that people who do have disordered eating love this because it's a way for them to restrict calories, right?
Which is why it's very scary.
And people use this as a way to figure out ways to cut calories, right?
Yes.
I'm also concerned that sometimes I'm noticing people who are doing these intermittent fasts because they actually end up getting an eating disorder on them.
Like orthorexia kind of thing.
Because sometimes you become much more cognizant of not eating or when you can eat and when you could eat versus just eating when you're hungry or eating your breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Right.
It's just kind of like switching out one type of control for another.
That's right.
So that's why like food in itself, though, it's like really scary because, you know, alcohol, if you quit, you don't have to ever eat it again.
Right.
Food, it's like you have to eat eventually, right?
