Absolutely.
Myself personally, as you mentioned, when I broke up with a guy because he liked baseball,
Um, and this was when I was still trying to heal my disorganized attachment style.
And it was this emotionally available, wonderful guy gone out on a few dates.
And, uh, yeah, I just had to justify, I had, I had to, I couldn't find any reason to break up with him, but I had to find a reason.
And I had just decided it was because he liked baseball and I didn't want to go to baseball games.
And you can look at that and go, wow, that's so insane.
But at the time, that's what I had to do for survival for myself.
I had to distance myself from him because it did not feel safe to be chosen, to be loved, to have someone actually do what they say they're going to do.
The calm, the stability, the emotional availability felt terrifying to me because it did not match what I knew to be true about love.
No.
And I see so many people.
It breaks my heart.
You know, in the dating scene, I think they'll talk about, well, I just have high, high standards.
Or, well, I just want someone that's like this and has that.
And it really, it can be this way of distancing ourselves and finding reasons to push people away.
Because unfortunately, there's so many people that are not comfortable with closeness, that are not comfortable with being chosen, that are not able to receive emotional availability and they're not emotionally available themselves.
So then, you know, you have this dating culture where people are complaining about, oh, there's all this swiping and we connect on the apps, but then we never actually meet up.
There's just a lot of people who are aware of themselves and they're not aware of how they're showing up and they're not able to get close to people.
And I think it does create a lot of frustration in the dating world.
