And it's really easy to get them.
There's an enormous black market.
So we, through another organization, put out a call for people to send in their mail-order black market peptides.
And then we got them tested in a lab in Melbourne.
What we found was in one sample, the dose was only 40% of what you thought you'd bought.
In the other one, it was 70%.
And then in the third one, there was none at all.
None of the peptide at all.
And what they've found is that in some of these samples, there's 7% free copper.
And what it's there for, they think, is as a marketing gimmick, because it turns the peptide blue.
So you're buying a blue peptide, which presumably you think is more effective, and copper is blue when it's in a chemical form.
And you're taking this toxic copper and injecting it into your body.
And none of these peptides are proven in humans.
None of them have a safety profile.
Some of them might do the job.
They say there's a tanning one called melanotan, which does induce the chemical messenger, which induces tanning pigmentation.
But it also has off-target effects because that same chemical messenger has effects in the brain and elsewhere.
So you get side effects and you can also get cancer of the skin as a result of it.
