They're maybe as high as 5%, 6% of the US population has it.

But it's been under-investigated as an environmental cause of asthma and an environmental cause of developmental delays.

So we actually give a diploma in tropical medicine for medical professionals, especially here in Texas and the Gulf Coast, and they're actually accelerating due to climate change and urbanization.

That's the other problem with a lot of these parasitic diseases, the diagnostic tests for those, which we'd love to do, but we don't have the funding.

For instance, with Toxicara, the one that's associated with asthma developmental delays, what happens is you swallow the eggs, but the larvae don't become full-blown adults producing eggs.

So the larvae are migrating through the tissues.

So there's a lot of antigen presentation, and you can have antibodies to it, but you have to know the antibody test.

Yeah.

And the other problem is the specialty tests are not done everywhere.

They have to be done at the CDC or at our place.
