Well, what is actually happening, and I only discovered this because I actually took the time to find a slug detective.
Wait, is that a real thing?
No, it isn't.
Like an insect expert who specialises in slugs.
Gotcha.
And so I got her to come on and unpack all of the clues in this video to see if we could figure out who this slug was to find the perpetrator.
And so she picks out all of these different things like, you know, the weather, the time of year, all of these things that she can see.
You can see these first two antennae and then these other two antennae appear like little moustache antennae.
And it takes ages to crawl over the camera lens, so it must be a really big slug and all these things.
And it turns out that it's probably a leopard slug.
And this is one of the only slugs who is known to be quite aggressive to other slugs.
They're territorial, so they will like literally sort of like eat their rivals.
It's pretty gory.
In like slow motion?
Yeah, sort of.
Yeah.
But the thing is, okay, I did not expect where this story was going to go.
I thought it was going to be we've identified the perpetrator.
That's it.
