But I know, especially when you're onboarding new people in perioperative services, that orientation is long.
It's longer than probably any other type of department in an organization for lots of different reasons.
But there are numerous studies that show there's a positive correlation between confidence and competence.
Yeah.
And how you help someone to become more confident is you give them the resources, you give them the tools, you start small, let them master the easy before then you layer the more challenging and difficult.
And to be able to do that in an environment where people are supporting you, they're saying, we want you to feel safe asking questions because if I'm a new nurse and I ask a question and somebody makes me feel stupid,
for asking.
I'm not going to ask a question again.
I'm going to wing it and that's going to impact, you know, patient outcomes, of course.
And David, in the time we have left, I'd love to shift a bit.
You've mentioned that AORN has some amazing evidence-based tools.
So I don't know, tell us, what do you have available?
You know, I know that you have a lot of tools to help
build cultures of safety and respect and communication.
And I know a lot of the communication tools that are out there, it really was born out of Periop because that's, you know, life and death critical moments right there, you know, every day.
Can you tell us what you're doing at AORN to really create this sort of better, safer, more respectful work culture?
Yes.
