I'd say, yeah, but what if you were a young gay boy sitting here in the class?

Why would you think you'd hear that?

Look at the Premier League.

You know what I mean?

Look at all those footballers.

There's a lot of them.

There's a lot of gay men in there playing football.

I mean, I grew up in a time when you were in a chipper and cork and you looked well.

You know what I mean?

You had your hair done.

You took an interest in yourself.

You know what I mean?

The amount of slur you'd hear in a chipper at like two o'clock in the morning about how you looked and all that.

And the next minute you're rolling around the floor, you know, fighting someone.

Really?

Yeah, because someone would say, you know, they'd say fucking faggot as you'd walk in because you had your hair quiffed a certain way.

But, you know, it's harder to keep the grip going.

It's unbelievably offensive.

But I suppose that's where I weren't getting with all of that is that that's the legacy that we grew up with.

And so you can see why people hide their sexuality and still hide their sexuality and still hold it.
