And I'm going to make my small contribution to it.

Well, I hope so.
But I mean, my realistic goal is... No!
We've got to be positive.
But like when you're doing your dissertation, your goal in the PhD program is to find a gap in the literature.
And how are you going to fill that gap?
And it's the same way in law enforcement.
I've seen there's a gap in training, and I'm trying to fill that gap with...
different training, less training, because as a police chief, I can't send you to a 40-hour class because now I've got to pay somebody overtime to fill your place.
Plus I'm paying you and your per diem to take the training.
Yes, sir.
So if I can make that a 16-hour class...
I can send more people.
At least I've imparted some knowledge of how to deal with psychiatric crisis people and how to de-escalate it.
So that's my goal, is to make the officers on the street have that training so that hopefully it changes their behavior when they encounter these situations.
