And here in California, in many of our task forces, we don't even use the word rescue.

Uh we use the word recover and especially with adolescents who run, it's like

We just know they're going to run.

We have had um young women particularly that have been quote unquote rescued and then they run fifteen times.

So is it a rescue every time?

So you mentioned

What how can an editor protect the integrity of a duty of care model?

Okay, so now looking we've looked at it from that perspective, let's go to the um other side of the equation because it feels a little bit like the victim is between one

um viewpoint of we've got to tell this story and another viewpoint where care for them and their recovery process is the goal.

Um so for organizations that work with survivors and honestly Nina um there is a lot of pressure on nonprofits to tell a good story.

so they can raise money to do what they do.

So for those organizations, what should they be asking before agreeing to connect a journalist with someone in their program?

Yeah.

So is there a way in a journalist's um

commitment to telling the story to factor in some kind of shared power, shared authority.

I I'm here's what I'm thinking.

I have grandkids.

They are on social media and they care about what pictures I post.
