So a lot of it is looking back at the past, looking at different systems, and then tying it back to how is that impacting you in this present moment?

Yes.
And I think that that is a question that a lot of people ask themselves, even like therapists are like, how do I help this person when I have no control over their environment?
And the truth is like first just like naming that right and validating that and saying no.
you are not crazy.
There is nothing innately wrong with you.
You are having a very normal response to an abnormal situation.
And we think about it that way with like any kind of trauma, really, where a person actually has a real reason to be scared.
Maybe they had gotten in a really bad car accident, or they've lost a family in a car accident, lost their family in a
airplane and they're scared of flying.
They're scared of driving.
It makes sense to me that people are terrified of doing that thing again.
And I think that that is so important to first just name that you are having, again, a very normal response to an abnormal situation that shouldn't have happened to you.
That shouldn't have happened to your family.
And then also, again, acknowledging that no matter what I do, right, I won't be able to fix what is happening outside of these four walls.
However, this is going to be your space where you can talk about these things.
