The Common Coal Centre in the UK did a study here where they got very, I think, generous victims to take part in a study where they stuck their feet in cold water for 20 minutes and then looked to see were they more likely or not to catch a cold, right?

The thing scientists do.

What they found was that the people who took part in it, if you were brewing something and got wet and cold, you were more likely for it to turn into a bit of a bug, right?

But you had to have kind of contracted the virus already and for it to be activated by the cold and damp.

But if you're healthy and well, go out with a wet head, be confident with your wet head and don't be listening to old tales like it'll give you your death of cold.

No, you don't.

But it shouldn't stop anyone from wearing a hat.

You lose... This comes from a 1950s study from the US military.

What they did was they put people into these Arctic survival kits and the only bit of their bodies that were exposed was their heads.

And so from that...

Of course, the piece of skin that was going to lose most of the heat was the exposed head.

But in reality, every part of your body loses heat at the same rate.

We do feel it more sensitively in our faces, in our necks, in our chests.

But if you were to strip down to your swimming tugs and sit in a cold room, you would lose heat evenly from all parts of your body.

Your body, the surface area of your body, your head constitutes about 10%.

So you lose 10% of the heat from your head.

No, no, not at all.

Nor the whole thing about using 10% of your brain being true.

So left brain people were seemingly more logical and detailed orientated.
