It's not great for our grocery budget.
protein is literally the most expensive nutrient when all when we break it all down it's our most expensive nutrient it's our pets so let's think about like why it is so expensive not only is it the sexy nutrient because we have to have it we need it all but protein is often one of the most resource intensive components of our pet food if you're thinking this
you know, the cost that it takes and all the resources for, like, our livestock.
That's mainly protein, but it's going into pet food, it's going into our food.
So you have to think about, like, sustainability-wise, resource-wise, it's very expensive.
So this is the next evolution of protein.
Not, well, okay.
not really a revolution and not a total replacement, but the exploration of a viable alternative protein that could either complement or coexist as a protein supply without taxing the environment that we already have is, I think, something really cutting edge.
And unfortunately, sorry, not many people are jumping on it.
I don't know why.
But according to Paul, much like we evolved from using whale oil to kerosene, from horses to carts to cars, adopting alternative proteins like mycoproteins is simply really the next step in the evolution of mankind and really pet food.
So, when in doubt, ask for those LCAs.
Show it.
Let's see it.
Let me see them LCAs.
And if they don't have it, they aren't working on one, but continue to make these bold, sexy sustainability claims?
Time out.
Red flag.
No way.
But again, like you said, Jordan, and like Allison said, it's all about trade-offs.
