Like I just explained, it has nothing to do with hot flashes.
So it doesn't get acknowledged.
And the woman herself doesn't think she's having issues because she's not having hot flashes.
The hot flashes come later.
And we're making women wait until that transition has completed of menopause for a year before we give them hormones.
Like what kind of standard is that?
That is insane to me.
So I wanted to share that because again, I have seen a large cohort of patients who at
And I say, again, fit and healthy because that's the big argument online is you should try harder.
The reason you're gaining weight in menopause is because you don't have enough muscle.
The reason you're having these hormonal changes and feeling so symptomatic is because you don't have enough muscle and you're not eating enough protein and you're not trying hard enough.
And I know that I am guilty of some of that messaging too.
It's hard to make a reel in 30 to 60 seconds where you can explain this.
And I know that some of what I've said has definitely been taken out of context on other podcasts I've been on.
They like to sensationalize and clip out the parts that are going to get the most from the audience.
And they completely lose the context of what I said it in.
So then people just associate that comment with me.
And that must be the kind of person I am.
And they never bother to go listen to the whole episode.
I know that I have been accused of some of that, but I've always said both.
