The number one most prescribed drugs in America are Nexium and Protonix and Prilosec and things like this, which are the drugs that we use to treat acid reflux. So we know we have a problem there because those are three of the top 10 drugs there. These are diseases of the immune system that manifest in the gut that are clearly on the rise. So these are the common things that I would see. But the reason why people don't get good results by going to their gastroenterologist is that if the root of the problem exists in the microbiome,

and we don't even acknowledge the microbiome, let alone start to pull the levers that allow us to heal the microbiome, then you're never going to actually fix your problem. You can patch it up and you can put a sheet over it with medication, which may help you to reduce your symptoms. But the actual disease exists within the microbiome. That's the origin of the disease.
