The number one most prescribed drugs in America are Nexium and Protonix and Prilosec and things like this, which are the drugs that we use to treat acid reflux. So we know we have a problem there because those are three of the top 10 drugs there. And then health conditions like... inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, celiac disease, microscopic colitis.

and we don't even acknowledge the microbiome, let alone start to pull the levers that allow us to heal the microbiome, then you're never going to actually fix your problem. You can patch it up and you can put a sheet over it with medication, which may help you to reduce your symptoms. But the actual disease exists within the microbiome. That's the origin of the disease.

Yeah. All right. So the issue with constipation is that many people, when they hear constipation, they think, oh, it must mean that you haven't pooped in a week. Well, if you haven't pooped in a week, you're definitely constipated. I don't need any additional information to make the diagnosis there. But actually, there's many different variations and forms on constipation.

You are backing up. And because you are backing up, your gut is out of rhythm. And because your gut is out of rhythm, the food that you put into your body is going to create gas bloating and you're not going to feel well, right? So what you experience from a symptoms perspective is gas and bloating. I want to say that gas and bloating is the number one symptom associated with constipation.

It's commonly tied to pooping. For the listeners at home, here's a trick. Pay attention to your bloating symptoms around your bowel movement. If you have a good bowel movement and your bloating is gone for at least a few hours, You have just proven to me that your symptoms are tied to pooping. And then the argument becomes, are you pooping enough? Do we need to poop more?
