Similarly with surgery, for instance, there is a routine to surgery, where a sequence of steps unfolds to deliver a piece of care.
Medicine relies on these practices where things occur in sequence that are very goal directed.
It's almost impossible to imagine healthcare without routines and similarly a healthy life.
