So basically all of the embedded microprocessors that drive like mobile phones, all the Wi-Fi chips, the 5G chips are all tested by Teradyne machines.
These like huge, like three to five million dollar machines.
machines that test like at the wafer level, they'll test like all the little individual dies to make sure they're good.
Are they testing for mass production or is this a QA, QC test?
No, this is inline mass production.
So like the full wafer after you've produced whatever you're making, like NVIDIA GPUs or, you know, tons of CDMA chips or whatnot.
you know, you, you want to know whether they're good or not.
And so you basically blast them through all of their performance requirements while they're still at the wafer scale before you cut them up before you package them.
And so, yeah, the machine is sort of in line in the semiconductor manufacturing process.
Anyways, that was what my dad did.
Um, and, and, uh, and, uh, yeah, that's, that's why we were in Boston, outside of Boston.
Um, I ended up, I went to Stanford university, um, uh, study electrical engineering there.
I, I don't know how that happened.
I had a really great English teacher who, um, when he was, he was my, it was my senior year, junior year or something like that.
And he, he was asking me where I wanted to go to school.
I said, I didn't know.
I wanted to be an engineer of some kind at the, at the time I wanted to be an environmental engineer, whatever that meant.
I was interested in energy even then.
Right.
Um, and he was like, well, you know, you should check out Stanford.
