It's a good place to be because I don't think a lot of people take animation seriously, even though it does kind of drive the entire industry.

So that's a good point.

You know, I take very silly things seriously and I'm very happy to make animation and theme parks my kind of cornerstones.

Well, I mean, there's a lot of connections there, obviously, and I'm sure you got into this, but, you know, Sleeping Beauty's castle, which is the icon of Disneyland and one of the most photographed things in the world.

You know, the park opened in 55 and the movie didn't open until 59.

So that was actually a big kind of promotional thing.

for the movie.

And when you would walk through Sleeping Beauty's castle, you would see vignettes from the movie, but the movie was still in production.

So sometimes you would walk through in those early years of Disneyland and see scenes that never made it into the final version of the movie.

Oh, that's cool.

It's kind of fascinating.

Yeah, it's really cool.

And, you know, for me and my kind of like personal journey,

When I was younger, I went to the Disney MGM Studios theme park, which had just opened in the summer of 1989, which was a full year before Universal got their park open in Orlando as well.

So they beat them to the punch with this great new theme park that was devoted to the making of your favorite film and television series.

And they had a full-on Walt Disney Animation Studios, at the time known as Walt Disney Feature Animation, satellite studio in Florida.

So to be able to walk through that, see animators working, see the process, it was a pretty profound moment.

It's sort of my origin story.

It's sort of like Bruce Wayne's parents getting shot was me going to the Disney and Jim Studios

and seeing them make animated movies inside a theme park.
