We were taken over by William Demant, a Danish corporation, back 24 years ago now.

We were one of the first retail businesses that they took over.

So it's a Danish company, but it operates throughout the world.

Yeah, they make them in the Far East and obviously distribute them.

But all the technology, all the R&D, everything like that is done in Denmark.

Do you have any issues getting audiologists and people to work in these stores and clinics?

Not really, no.

We tend to develop our own, but we bring people in from outside.

And we would, you know, typically we'd bring good business people in that have a desire to give something back.

I think that's the key bit.

It's just about life changing.

because when you fit somebody with a hearing aid, it simply is life-changing.

There's a lot of people out there that want to do that, but we put them through a very comprehensive training programme that then leads into a degree, and then we put them out and sell hearing aids that way.

It depends on what you're listening to and the volume that you're listening to.

So if you're listening to loud music all the time, yes, it's going to damage your hearing.

So there's something like one billion young adults across the world at the moment who could be in danger of hearing loss in the future.

They don't.

No, absolutely.

And, you know, it used to be in the old days, you know, people that worked in foundries and mines and, you know, loud, noised environments would suffer from hearing.

And you see those people, you know, now coming in with hearing difficulties.
