Okay, well, if the brain is making its own decisions about timing of the presentation of the so-called experience, you have to question the idea that there is this central point or this finish line at which that everything's crossing over because there's something being done that's actually fucking with the timing of your own experience.

And I think Dennett's point here is we take in way more than ultimately we quote unquote use or retain, right?

And he says, so, given that that's the case, you know, focus, our choice of how we focus our attention is what determines what quote unquote our consciousness is of, right?

Because it's an intentionality.

And he's like, so, what happens to all the rest, you know, who makes that decision?

What happens to all the rest of the stuff?

It just means that the way consciousness works is not nearly as simple as it all comes in, you get a picture, you digest it or whatever.
