So, again, he was another example of people moving up to Auckland for business.
So Auckland won in 82, but then in 83, they were very confident and they headed down to Christchurch for the Ramferley Shield.
And the Ramferley Shield was massive in that era.
In fact, the whole Canterbury getting the shield off Wellington was something that captivated the country right in the early 80s.
I think it might have been 81.
where they went down to Wellington, and Wellington had your Wilson, your Fraser, Alan Hewson.
They were a dynamic team as well, and Canterbury beat them surprisingly.
Wayne Smith had a really good game, and then they defended it in 82.
So Auckland came down.
