And again, one of the things that we heard yesterday was her victim impact statement was read out again.

So this is literally a week to the day statement.

We're hearing the same words and it doesn't lose their power or how moving they are.

I think the presiding judge, Karen O'Connor, referred to that.

She referred to them both as poignant and powerful, as far as I remember.

And she was very much making a point that, okay, we've heard this already, but I'm glad we're hearing it again because it's very important.

And of course...

Mrs. Mulready, then she actually does finish off saying, look, I want you to take into account that kind of the pain that still exists, the trauma that lives inside her, as you put it, you know, that is still there to this day and that they keep that in mind when they're handing down the sentence, which, as we know now, is a maximum of 10 years that they can possibly get.

So who is Glenn Bride?

He's 32, he's a father of two.

There was a bit of, I suppose, background, but again, it was this, you know, he had a normal childhood in Ballybock, but then when he hit his teens, you know, fell in with an older crowd involved in criminality and also started using or abusing drugs and alcohol, and that it gradually progressed to kind of worse drugs.

And

Like one of the things that his counsel, Michael Horrigan, said was that, you know, I've been instructed by my client to express his apologies for what happened.

And he said that kind of twice.

It was a basic enough apology.

And Glenn Bright didn't speak at all, except at one point near the end,

when his counsel was going through his, you know, his kind of teenage years when he went off the rails and mentioned then that it escalated to crack cocaine and heroin, at which point Glenn Bright stood up and he says, I don't know what he's talking about.

I want this put back.

And there was a bit of kind of confusion, I think, between the solicitor and the counsel.

Not confusion, but they were just trying to get a handle on what was going on here.
