President Trump has dispatched naval assets, prompting fresh speculation that he'll follow through on threats to attack Iran's senior leadership amid a violent crackdown on nationwide protests.

The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier and its associated strike group passed through the Strait of Malacca between Malaysia and Indonesia earlier this week and are now in the Indian Ocean.

This according to two U.S.

officials who declined to specify their precise destination.

Meanwhile, thousands of people took to the streets across Denmark to protest President Trump's ambitions to take control of Greenland, underscoring the deep unease over the future of the Arctic island.

Demonstrations unfolded across the Nordic nation's largest cities on Saturday, with crowds gathering in central Copenhagen and outside the U.S.

embassy in tandem with rallies in several other cities.

President Trump says he'll be, quote, suing JPMorgan Chase over the next two weeks for incorrectly and inappropriately debanking me, unquote, after the January 6th protests.

The president posted on Truth Social and denied JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon was offered the job of Federal Reserve Chair and adding that Scott Pesant is doing a fantastic job as Treasury Secretary.

Iran Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Saturday several thousand people died in this month's anti-government demonstrations, his first acknowledgement of the deadly scale of the unrest.

Some of those were killed, quote, brutally and inhumanely, unquote.

Khomeini said this without offering detail in a public meeting broadcast on state TV.

He accused the U.S.

and Israel of aiding the killings and said the Islamic Republic has evidence to support the claim.
