Mustards and horseradish sauces which I still sell to this day that have been selling since the 90s And I did it because a friend of mine introduced me to the idea of having food products We also had at one time Ed's Enzo knows which was a frosted cheerio The box was really it was a cool box. It was a collectible of the quality of the cereal was just okay, right?

But I was still playing we were winning Super Bowls. It was a fun thing to do we had Eddie Mac and cheese and Oh, wow. I love this. Eddie Mac and Cheese. I love this. He was so proud of that. Yeah. Eddie Mac and Cheese. It was good. Good. Right. But the mustard that we made was phenomenal. I met this family that's been in the industry for 100 years.

They came over from Germany and made spicy brown mustard. It helped me come up with a recipe. that I was proud to put my name on. And the mustard has sells, even though now I'm, you know, Christian or Luke's dad, or I'm the mustard guy for kids because they have it in their fridge. You know, it's sold because it's a great product. That's how it sells for 25 years.

So I stopped coaching a couple years ago. I partnered with my business partner to try to grow our business. So we expanded our lines of mustard and horseradish sauces, which you can buy either online or in King Soopers and Safeways and City Markets in Colorado. But I wanted to create a healthy snack for everybody. I have four boys.

Give me honest, positive feedback. But these, again, are super healthy, gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan. They're made with all natural premium ingredients, and they're very low calorie as well, but they have protein in them. A lot of the unhealthy snacks don't have any protein. I don't think people consume enough protein throughout the day.

I'm buying them online. But, no, so far we've gotten such great positive feedback. Everyone seems to like them. And I'm so excited because they actually taste good. I'm glad you like them as well. I'm sure eventually there'll be some curmudgeon that doesn't like them. But it's so hard to get a good-tasting, healthy snack food. So you should still eat healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

We were talking about all the father and son and brother combinations and the Matthews family has got uncles and fathers and players. There's so many great football families. I don't think you can beat the Manning brothers. Their dad played, and they both won two Super Bowls. Right, yeah.

I'm surprised that more professional athletes don't have their kids that follow in their footsteps. Because obviously, if they're genetically blessed, it's probably a path. There's people in venture capital and private equity in Silicon Valley whose kids go into venture capital and private equity. They grow up around it, and they fall in love with the sport.

Yeah. If it was NIL, they could have cashed in in college. Well, maybe they still can. My oldest son, Max, coaches for the Dolphins. I'm so proud of him. He played in the league five or six years, fell in love with coaching. Christian, obviously, is playing with the 49ers. My son Dylan played at Michigan, played FBS football. I got to coach him a year. He's now a fisherman in Hilton Head Island.

So if you ever want to go fishing for some redfish in South Carolina, let me know. But he helped. I'm going to let you know. I think I will. He's been part of this whole McCaffrey brand. He's no longer playing. But he has really helped us develop this product. And as a fisherman, he's out on the boat all day long and very outdoorsy and hunting, fishing, you name it. And so he carries them around.

Drops me off with a water bottle, and you start running laps. What are we doing here? It was. You've got five kids. You're parents. You've got three kids in three years, and all of a sudden you're like, they've got to be participating in activities. Get out of the house. It wasn't fun in the beginning, but I fell in love with it. My kids have pressures I never had.

Like these guys that you're talking about that grew up, like the Manning brothers even, their dad played in the NFL. Who knew they were going to be as good as they were? But they're probably, when they were younger, always getting compared to their dad.

If you're not an NFL player, then you didn't live up to expectations. I never had to deal with any of that. So I know a lot of pro athletes in football and other sports, they don't even want their kid to play the sport. I don't want them to have to endure that kind of criticism or pressure. And so Lisa and I never signed them up.

Hey, join the chess team. Play sports if you want. But you have to be engaged. Follow your passions. What is it you love to do? And so we made sure they had to do something, but we let them choose. So when they asked, it was my oldest son, Max, when he was nine, had a friend that played football. He was like, hey, can I sign up for football? I'm like, no.

Every parent I talk to, you've got a son, you've got a daughter. It doesn't matter what sport it is. It doesn't matter if they're singers or actors. You want them to succeed so well, more than you've ever wanted it for yourself. And that's the blessing of being a parent. It's also one of the most challenging things because you can't do anything about it. It's hard, yeah.

Hunts can get out of here. Well, yeah, some competitors jumped up and produced... ketchup without corn syrup because of health concerns. So then Heinz copied them and did the same thing because you have to follow the trends and you want to be health conscious. But there's I mean, think about it. There's so many I'm not going to name the names.

There's so many very popular mustard brands that are in every grocery store on the planet. Right. But what we've been able to do is, one, create a phenomenal product like our spicy brown mustard. I would put next to any mustard on the planet. There's not a better spicy brown mustard on the planet Earth than what we produce. So it's absolutely delicious.

You can't beat it, which is why it's still sold after 25 years. But we've also been able to create a little bit of a niche in our business because the bigger brands don't always want to experiment with new flavors and new products. So we've created a Chipotle mustard. You don't find a lot of Chipotle mustards. We have a Sriracha. We have a squeeze bottle with horseradish sauce.

Our main retailer is King Soopers in Colorado, which is owned by Kroger and City Markets. So when they want to come up with a new product because of the changing demographics or for any other reason, we can work really quickly. So we're more like a speedboat than an aircraft carrier. And so that's been a very efficient and successful thing for us to do.

So over the years when they've needed honey mustard, we create a honey mustard. Dijon, we created Dijon. And we'll continue to do that. And I think that's where we fit in. It's tough to stand toe to toe with billion dollar corporations. We're a mom and pop, small company. Make healthy food, make good tasting food.

You're not making it about you. And then there's probably a time for whatever reason where you get too intense.

And I've gone through that. There was a time where I was sitting up in the stands and my wife's like, I'm not even going to sit next to you. Of course. And you know what? In those moments, I realized me having any kind of anxiety, it's not helping them, but it's also pushing me away from my wife who I love and maybe my other kids. I'm like, it's, It's challenging to be a parent. I respect parents.

The number one thing you can do is love them and support them. They just want to know you're there for them no matter what happens. And one of the challenges for me, because I coached all my kids, is knowing when to take the coach's cap off.

You know what? I don't have. Only recently have I wanted to buy Lombardi trophies and put them up in my house. So even to this day, I don't have my rings.

I did bring one here because I got one for calling games on the radio as a member of the media. Wow, so you have four. John Elway gave me my fourth Super Bowl ring for calling the game.
