And when you say working on, yeah, that seems like a fairly broad thing though, because a lot of these rationalist types don't actually work on the stuff, they work next to it.
They're like philosophy people.

It's like they talk about it.
They like to talk about the prospect of nanotechnology.
They like to talk about uh, you know, super intelligent AI.
They like to talk about these things.
But but yeah, so these people spent a lot of time doing that on message boards in the nineties, and there was this one guy who showed up in the mid to late nineties on uh one of the
most sort of influential of these message boards, the extropians, uh, which you know don't get me started on that name and comes out of a misunderstanding of physics.
