So so just to get the timeline straight here, um Yadkowski makes that shift uh from, you know, superintelligence is gonna solve everything and we should be aiming for it as fast as possible, to oh my god, it's gonna kill us all.
He makes that shift around the same time that the Singularity Institute for AI is founded in the early two thousands.

I mean, he's just been on these message boards for a long time and he also saw that like
you know, the the nanotech guys who wanted a lot of the same things and made a lot of the same promises back in the eighties and nineties, people like Eric Drexler, um they had their own sort of institute and Yadkowski, you know, at this point, he's, you know, unemployed and and about twenty.
And I I think he's he's like, I want to work on this full time.
Can I turn this into a job?
And finds a way of doing that by, you know, co founding this institute.
But um I I also I wanna I wanna just push back on one thing that you said, Cal.
