So that is such a cure-it's-egg of the team because you can cast it as doing really well or underachieving or overachieving depending on how you want to perceive these things.
Yeah, and just to put some numbers on it, Cadillac, by comparison... Actually, I'd argue this year Cadillac should be last.
This is an exception year for Haas in terms of, I think, performance potential for Haas this year is a little bit higher than Cadillac, but that's a very, very temporary thing.
But Cadillac...
At the start of the year, they said there were almost 600 people.
I imagine they've gone past 600 now.
And in fact, Graham Loudon said the other day, the majority of their recruitment focus now is in the US because obviously they're ramping up that facility just outside Indianapolis at Fishers that's being built.
So that gives you a little bit of an idea.
But Cadillac is making pretty much everything itself, isn't it?
They take the gearbox internals from Ferrari at the moment, but the casing, the suspension carrier, as it's called, they do themselves.
So yeah, a very different model there.
But
Not to put too fine a point on it, though, but if you go to Banbury โ I didn't go this time, but I have been there in the past โ it has to be the most unimpressive of the F1 facilities there is now.
You can probably say what Racing Bulls had around its wind tunnel, which loads of people squeezed in and they've now no longer use.
That was perhaps a rival to that.
But
It's really crammed in.
It's not a sort of state of the art, super shiny F1 facility, is it?
It is really limiting.
And in fact, that's why they're trying to do things to make better use of that space and expand it and some of the things you were looking at when you paid a visit.
