We miss the simple truths that matter most.
Our brains, it's almost like they don't worry about pain.
as much as they worry about the longevity of the pain.
The heart of all suffering seems to be the fear that it will last forever, that there is no finitude.
But those three numbers, they put things into perspective.
They put the pain into perspective.
They put the mission into perspective.
They reframed the moment not as forever,
but as an opportunity, a fleeting opportunity.
In life's storms, they aren't much different.
They hurt while they reshape us, but they are not forever.
And sometimes the reminder that there is another side and that our reaching those clear skies is an inevitability that can make the world of a difference.
Athletics are just a great example because they're simple.
They're literal, right?
A literal representation of personal output, pain, and perseverance.
Our lives, on the other hand, are a bit more complex.
More challenging and convoluted at times.
But I think those pillars of truth remain intact.
While you're amidst the darkness, you need to become your own light.
You need to remind yourself that this will end and will transform you for the better.
