It's like being friends with a scorpion.
They can't help it.
They will just write about the interesting things.
And that's what Kuska does.
She says herself in this book that, and I'm assuming it is her, the writer, not a character, but she says that she has sacrificed things like happiness and security.
to be completely committed to her art.
And it does come with sacrifices.
But a lot of writers will not go ahead and publish.
That's the thing, you know, we'll all write.
I've written things that are sitting on my hard drive that will have to be deleted.
But I will never publish or I'll have to wait till everyone's dead to publish them.
But it is an issue.
I think writers always, always access some element of their own biography when they're writing.
And making them identifiable, which is the issue, I think, you know, because people can infer that this is Natalie Portman, even though, like, without wanting to spoil.
Yeah, I mean, I think basically all writers are on a spectrum and that spectrum is called monster writing.
And it depends on where you fall on that spectrum of monstrous.
But I really bristle at the idea that I can't write about what I want to write about.
So I would probably be closer to the monstrous end of that spectrum if I'm being really honest.
