It has now been nearly 72 hours since two major earthquakes measuring magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 struck in quick succession, causing widespread destruction across large parts of the country.
On Saturday, the government said the death toll had risen to 1,430, with nearly 3,500 injured.
But those figures are predicted to rise.
