And, you know, this kind of realization started to kick in.
I was like, oh, OK.
And I remember one day it'll always stand out to me.
I can remember I was walking the grounds with him one Sunday.
And I can remember there was a counsellor working in there and I'm always like, hi, how are you?
Everything's great.
And I can just remember he was looking at us and I remember looking at his eyes and I just went, nah, I'm screwed here.
I just knew I could tell a story by looking in his eyes that he was looking at me and he was just like, girl, run.
And that's what I felt from him.
I could just feel the story in his eyes.
So anyway, roll on to the day he was coming home.
And I remember I pulled up with the kids and he got into the car.
And all I was thinking of was Rachel Patton.
I can't think of that song, but the fight song came on.
This is your fight song.
Take back your life song.
And I thought, that's a sign that everything is going to be OK.
Like, oh, my God.
And to this day, even when I hear that song, I get really emotional because rehab saved me and the kids, not him.
