People like that have contacted me on, you know, saying, Joe, fair play to you and well done.
They're the very people that were just so kind to me in school.
There's just really were.
And it's also funny, the ones that weren't so kind.
it's they realize now I suppose you know as you grow up and probably reflect back on your own life that maybe I wasn't such a nice person to her and I have got one or two messages you know but I forgive that because the way I look at it is it wasn't right and it wasn't nice but maybe they had a lot of stuff going on in the scene at home or something I don't know you know that kind of way but it does catch up with with the person after I think you know
online and you know you've got the image all of this you know at least thankfully like we didn't have that pressure do you know what I mean of everything having to look perfect or all of that and just kind of being caught up in that whole scene I suppose and not having I suppose a childhood really do you know that kind of way and then could you were you someone who just couldn't wait to be finished secondary school get the hell out of there
couldn't wait, just could not wait to get out of there.
Like, I just couldn't wait.
Like, it was just, you know, people were so sad at graduation day.
I was like, oh my God, I made it.
I actually made it through.
Do you know what I mean?
You know, and what's so strange is I spent maybe the last year or two in school, I probably grew a little in confidence.
I started working in tourism in Trayton Clarny and
in Murphy's Bar has always had the fondest place in my heart and that's where my confidence grew you know waiting on tables meeting people that's where I that's where my confidence grew and I had that for a few years there and I just loved it I just loved I was able to talk to people and use my voice and just have fun with it and it was there was a beautiful team always there and it always felt like a family working there and that really was a huge turning point for me in my confidence I suppose or you know
I spent, goodness, I spent over 17 years working there.
Did you?
Yeah, 17.
I started, I'd say, when I was, my sister got me the job, actually.
She knew the owner and I can remember her ringing me saying, oh, do you want to call up and he'll have a word with you?
