Of course, following the discovery of Anna's body inside the abandoned building, police wanted to arrest those two boys ASAP because, well, I mean, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that

if they were the last people to see Anna and then 20 minutes later she's brutally murdered, they've probably got something to do with it.

But because the boys were so young, it wasn't as straightforward as like going to their house, handcuffing them, arresting them.

They couldn't do it like that.

It had to be done differently.

They had to follow a certain protocol and like make a whole plan in order to arrest these boys.

They had to notify the parents 24 hours before

Which is kind of mad like imagine getting a call being like in 24 hours your child will be arrested I think I'd have a heart attack.

So they went to arrest the boys in plain clothes They were in well, not even an unmarked police car They couldn't be in the normal police car obviously but they couldn't even be in their unmarked police cars because Everyone in town kind of already knew that they were the unmarked police cars.

Imagine that by the way

Imagine a police force buying these cars to be unmarked police cars so they can go undetected but everyone in the town already knows that they're the unmarked police cars so they know it's the police anyway.

I don't know how that's supposed to even work.

But anyway, because everyone knew that the unmarked police cars were still the police, they actually had to rent cars for the day to go and arrest these boys so that no one would identify the car outside their house.

It was a whole operation.

But finally, now, both of the boys were arrested and sent to different police stations for questioning.

And when they were there, they took all kinds of DNA swabs, samples.

They had to take all these DNA tests and stuff so that they could test that against the...

evidence that was found at the scene.

Of course, the police had collected pretty much everything that they could from that abandoned house that they thought was of use.

They collected all of Anna's clothing, those two murder weapons, obviously.
