on them.
And her t-shirt that had the semen stain on it, what do you know?
That semen stain came back as a match to Boy A. And with that, police finally had all the evidence they needed to charge Boy A and Boy B with the murder of Anna Creedle.
They were actually the youngest people in the history of the Republic of Ireland to ever be charged with murder.
And because the boys were so young, a lot of adaptations were made to the trial process, just like they were to the arresting process.
So one of the adaptations that was made was that the boys were allowed their parents next to them.
They were allowed to sit next to their parents and for a lot of it, they were actually holding their mother's hands.
I think that really hammers in how young these boys were, that they were sitting at their own murder trial holding mummy's hand.
And for a lot of the trial, whenever people would look over at certain points, they'd be like resting their head on their mum's shoulder as if they weren't at their own murder trial.
Everyone just said it was so bizarre to see children so young in these circumstances.
The judges in the trials weren't allowed to wear their wigs or their robes, you know, the usual judge get up because they feared that it would intimidate the boys, the murderers, the kids that are charged with murder.
The boys would have to be snuck in through the back entrance or the side entrance of every courthouse they went into just to avoid like media, obviously, because they were trying to protect these boys' identities.
But actually a lot of the media were banned from being there.
Only the reliable sources.
were allowed in.
And I don't know who that is, I don't know which ones they allowed and which ones they were like, no, you lie.
But anyway, the trial began and it started with both of the boys pleading not guilty to all of the charges against them.
So it was up to the prosecution to try and prove that they were guilty.
And although it looked like a very straightforward case when it came to boy A, aka the boy with the murder kit and all of the illegal porn search history,
But when it came to boy B, it wasn't quite so straightforward because remember I said there was no physical evidence connecting him to the crime.
