Trump can fire anybody he wants and who works for the federal government, anybody he wants in an independent executive agency.
There is no ability, according to the Supreme Court, for Congress to make an independent federal agency with its leadership protected from being fired at the whim, at the will of the president, except for the Fed.

That's the one thing that's special.
And if you want to understand that hypocrisy, all you got to do is follow the money, right?
If you think about the institutions that the court says Trump now fall solely under Trump's thumb, what are they?
The Federal Trade Commission, which helps consumers complain about unfair business practice.
The Securities and Exchange Commission, which stops bankers from insider training.
The OSHA, the EPA, anything that helps consumers and the people rise up and protect themselves from corporate interests.
The Supreme Court says, actually, those aren't independent agencies.
They're just whatever the president wants to do.
The Fed, on the other hand, protects their money, protects their stock portfolios, protects their investment funds.
And so the Fed and only the Fed is special.
And again, that is not me reading tea leaves.
That is not me doing hyperbole.
If you read Brett Kavanaugh's concurrence in the case, he straight up says that the reason the Fed's independence is important is because the Fed has been successful.
because the Fed protects the U.S.
and global economy.
That's not a legal reason.
The fact that the thing is doing what you want it to do is not a legal reason for the thing to be protected, but it is the reason that Kavanaugh cites for why the Fed should be protected and the FTC should not and the SEC should not and the FECC should not.
