So here's a guy who preyed upon collegiate, young collegiate women in the Pacific Northwest University of
Washington, you know, Seattle area, but then continued his killing spree, you know, in Colorado and Utah.
Ultimately, he was caught in Florida.
But he was a charming fellow when he wanted to be.
And in all of my explorations of crime, I've done a lot of crime documentary work in addition to that scripted movie.
You know, the hard truth is,
that the people who do evil in this world are not the people who look like they're going to do evil.
It's the people you least expect and most often trust.
And that's true with all shocking crime, the pedophilic priest or the high school basketball coach who takes advantage of the locker room.
Bundy made us realize that serial killers can be the guy next door who you invite over to a party.
And so-
That's one reason we remember Bundy.
The other reason we remember Bundy is he kind of... I hate to use this phrase because it sounds sensational, so I don't mean it in this way, but kind of the golden age of serial killers.
These outraged white men, Gacy, Dahmer, Bundy.
And Bundy kind of kicked off that era in the 70s and 80s where this kind of crime...
was much easier to commit than it is now.
There are cameras everywhere now.
But back then, forensic science was not what it is today.
Back then, police departments didn't share information, as shocking as that is.
Crimes that took place in different police jurisdictions, there's 14,000 police jurisdictions in this country, and now they share information.
