And so to reduce it to some tree-hugging hippies is just completely...
ridiculous i mean last year in june visitor attractions um the the visitor numbers were really really low across the uk so at the design museum we're part of a network called the association for leading visitor attractions alva and in june all of our visitor numbers were low so all of
enjoying some fresh air, you know, National Trust, those kinds of places.
All the outdoor venues that had low visitor numbers thought, oh, everyone's inside looking for AC.
The truth is, no one was anywhere.
Everyone was at home by their fridges.
They were not going to schlep across town.
They were not going to get in their car.
They were staying home with the curtains drawn and their newly purchased van, probably off Amazon, on high.
The economic impacts of that are huge for my sector.
They're huge for everybody's sector.
Only last week, I was walking around a shopping center and all these signs saying, sorry, shop closed, shop closed, the AC is broken, it's too hot for our staff.
This is coming for us.
We all need to urgently mobilize.
Yeah, there's a real disconnect.
