You know, every single department showed up.

And interestingly, some of the areas who you think are the biggest kind of culprits of

contributing to the planetary emergency like shop and retail streams they were the most informed people in the room and really you know asking challenging questions and really had already been spending a lot of time thinking about this so yeah back to that every job is a climate job the more we empower people to take action in their roles the greater the opportunities for the whole institution to move forward you

You know, no one wants to be that fuddy-duddy museum.

We want to embrace change and model it in the sector, model it to our visitors as well.

And we have that really unique space, I think, in society to do that.

That's such a good question.

And we talk a lot in the museum about green hushing.

So everybody knows what green washing is, where you're basically lying.

Green hushing is the opposite, where you're doing really good work, but actually you're too scared to say because there are so many contradictions in any business, in any organisations.

We're reducing the carbon impact of our materials, but...

Sometimes we get on flights to do research for exhibition or we sell plastic things in the shop.

And I think embracing those imperfections, embracing those contradictions is really important.

And it's about being honest and saying we're not perfect, but we're really trying in areas where we do have agency.

We have a roadmap.

We have the intentions.

And it's not a get out of jail free at all.

But it's really powerful, I think, to be able to model again to the visitors that we're not expecting perfection.

We just need to keep moving forward to build this new future in a way that is filled with thoughtfulness and integrity always.

Every time we make horrible mistakes, of which I've made loads, I'm a recovering perfectionist.
