You know, I can remember when I wrote that line, and I was so pleased with it because of the word private.
Because private is not a judgmental word.
It's just a word describing what it's like to be alive.
And that Artie understood it was a private thing to be alive.
And that seemed a very Artie way of putting it.
No judgment, just a fact.
I mean, again, it's up to everybody and what their nature is, because we all have a different nature, and Artie's nature was, as I discovered, was not going to share.
But...
So I can't answer whether people should or shouldn't.
I don't know.
I think I do think an awful lot of things do go unsaid and that we're not even aware ourselves until maybe we read the book like that or something that how much we don't say ourselves and
maybe should say or not.
No, it's quite all right.
I mean, I think the only person that so far has called me a little bit is Francesca.
You know, what is her life like in Brussels as a concert pianist and an expat?
But I don't know.
