has been on the Egypt side of this.
You're winning, but you know the nerves are there.
And you know if they get one, you're in trouble.
They say 2-0 is the most dangerous lead in football.
And you know why they say that.
Because anyone who has supported a team that's trying to defend a lead late knows that quicksand feeling.
That this team hasn't scored a goal against us all game, but somehow there's an avalanche of them coming.
And I felt for Egypt because we've been on the other side of that, certainly as Arsenal fans down the years.
And like that feeling of inevitability in football is such, it's such an extraordinary thing when it's palpable like that.
I thought it was captivating.
Yeah, I loved it.
I mean, there was a 4-4 at Newcastle if you want to relive it where Arsenal were 4-0 up.
So here's the thing, the way I look at it.
If you want to look at the American sports angle, like forget this is football, pretend this is NFL.
American sports would absolutely rule that goal out because it'd be like, well, the foul is how they got the counterattack.
Yeah, it was offside.
It's a much more fluid game in terms of how it thinks about the application of the laws.
I don't like the precedent of going that far back to overturn it, but I understand the logic that that foul is how they start the counterattack.
