I never watch basketball.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
I'm just saying with the NBA, I never watch basketball, and Wemmy's got me glued to the TV.
You know, I think that you start making some serious decisions about the roster and who fits where and, you know, what you need to do, what you need to attack.
You know, I don't have any problem with some of the blunt commentary.
You know, we say hockey players are boring, then we can't complain when they say exactly how they feel.
um but you know i i do think to me one of the most interesting things and i do think this is going to be a conversation uh there's a couple things number one how bad their rush defense was all year regular season and playoffs how how they're how are they going to fix that and number two um clearly uh
McDavid and Dreisaitl, the wear and tear on them.
And, you know, McDavid in particular talked about it a little bit, but, you know, some of that is probably going to be, hey, you know, if it's 6-3 late in the game, maybe you don't get power play time or something like that, right?
Like, I think they'll go to them and say, hey, is there a way we can lighten your load?
And B, can we strengthen the roster around you?
I do think as big a conversation this year is going to be the way the Oilers play as opposed to also, I think obviously personnel is going to matter, but the way the Oilers play is going to have to be a thing here.
It is pretty clear to me that, and I think anybody who watched the media conference from Jim Rutherford on Friday has the same opinion.
that whoever wins this job is going to be running the Canucks.
Like this is the next hockey operations boss of the Canucks.
And Jim Rutherford admitted it.
His time there is getting shorter.
It's just a matter of when, not if.
So this is an interview for or a process for the next hockey boss of the Vancouver Canucks.
